HARARE regional magistrate Stanford Mambanje yesterday convened court at Harare Remand Prison Hospital where two suspects were charged with fresh robbery charges.
Courage Kadumba and Norman Karenga are admitted at the Remand Prison Hospital where they are recovering from gunshot wounds sustained during their arrest.
Allegations are that the two, with their accomplices, Tichaona Kariwa (now deceased), Jealous Mafuwa and one Madison, went to the house of the complainant on October 23 last year armed with pistols.
They knocked on the door and when the woman opened, they introduced themselves as cops.
They said they wanted to see her husband but she told them he wasn’t home.
The robbers allegedly produced four pistols and forced her back into the house.
They assaulted and threatened to kill her if she did not surrender all the money she had.
The woman directed them to take US$12 500 wrapped in a paper behind the toilet seat.
They ransacked the house looking for more money. The robbers also took her cellphones and car keys before fleeing.
The phones were recovered in Glaudina where they were dumped.
They were linked to Jealous Mafuwa, who has already appeared in court.
Mafuwa implicated his accomplices.
