THE Harare Basketball Association hosted a pre-season invitational tournament which was open to clubs from all the country’s 10 provinces.

The two-day basketball fiesta, held at Richwood Sport Club, saw newboys Basketball Hounds, coached by coach Russell Nemutabwe, clinching the men’s title and Lakers Women from Bulawayo taking the women’s title.

The tournament was an eye-opener for what promises to be an exciting HBA regular league in store.

The league will introduce the much-anticipated Super Six league format as the top-flight league for both women and men’s leagues.

Both mens and women’s teams exhibited a high intensity brand of basketball before a packed Richwood arena.
