How Mine could have surged ahead in the fifth minute but Thembani Masuku’s effort crashed on the crossbar with goalkeeper Roy Mazingi beaten.

The miners had other chance fell in the 54th minute but Mazingi did well to tip Heritain Masuku’s effort over the bar.

Substitute Caleb Masocha also had an effort tipped over the bar by Mazingi in the 81st minute.

Chapungu came to Mandava just to defend and got the point they wanted.

“I wanted to consolidate my position with a win and Chapungu wanted to survive relegation,” said Masomere.

His counterpart, Joseph Nyikadzino, was happy with the point.

“It was a battle for us to survive and I am happy we gained a point and also my players were committed,” he said.
