BULAWAYO entrepreneur Mr Praisemore Masuku (29) changed his life in a magnificent way – from being a gardener to a herbal specialist.
A successful one at that.

Mr Masuku was a gardener for four years in Bulawayo’s low density suburb of Sunninghill. He became a nurseryman at 21.
Being a greenskeeper meant that Mr Masuku, a man who had ambitions to rise above his station, had to go to night school if he wanted to pursue his dreams. He enrolled for night school at Christian Brothers College (CBC).
Walking 7,4 kilometres to and from CBC did not deter him.
“My boss lady encouraged me to go to school and study and she was prepared to pay my fees, however at CBC education was free for adults.
“I managed to excel in my studies and after that I trained as a herbalist. On my first days as an entrepreneur I would purchase spices at the market along 5th Avenue and package them so that I could move around the city selling them,” he said.
Mr Masuku managed to open a shop through the support he got from his wife who managed to keep the small profits that he brought from business.
“I also appreciate my clients for the support they gave me by testifying about the natural herbs I’m selling that later helped the business to grow,” he said.
“Currently the demand is higher because each day I get many clients and there are new clients on a daily basis referred to me by other customers,” said Mr Masuku.
Mr Masuku’s business has grown in leaps and bounds – he now supplies cities like Harare, Gweru, Gwanda and Plumtree.
He said the herbs he trades are natural, pure and have no modification. They are also used by Christians who are normally sceptical about herbs.
The herbs he sells are varied. There are fertility sets, infection sets, tightening and warming up body temperature herbs for ladies and strengthening your manhood herbs for men.
“My life has changed and I’m a happy man who is lawfully married through a white wedding. I got a car and two kids that I managed to take to one of the best schools in Bulawayo,” said Mr Masuku.
He encourages those who have dreams to pursue them and to soldier on in the face of adversity.
“Life is in your hands and all human beings have 24 hours per day. You must know what you want to achieve in life and the steps you must take in order to achieve your goals.

“At the same time don’t forget God in everything you do and surely you will excel. It is never too late to start working towards your dream, you can change your life,” said Mr Masuku.
The herbalist said he is looking forward to growing his business by providing natural foods, organic food and by getting land to plant the natural herbs.–@NomqheleC
