As much as dressing up is done daily, most people tend to forget daily to put on something and that is why they seem to never find it when they look for it or when they are inspected for it. That dressing accessory that most people make a habit of leaving behind at home is Confidence.
Confidence is a very important clothing accessory that one should wear always if they at all dream of attaining a certain level of success. It is the final and most important clothing item. No confidence whatsoever will ruin your look, no matter how stylish or expensive your clothes might be, the right amount will heighten your presence and give you an accentuated look, over-confidence, on the other hand, will border on arrogance and chase people away.
The foremost thing that one needs to realise is that confidence is not given to some while withheld from others. Just as everyone must put on clothes, everyone must wear confidence. You make a choice to put on confidence, and then you actually wear and take it with you wherever you go.
When you dress up, you do so with the occasion in mind, and so you search your wardrobe for the appropriate clothing to put on for the occasion. You will not put on the same clothes you take to a safari drive to a stakeholders meeting for a company unless if you are in some sort of fix. In the same manner you have to choose the right confidence to wear for a particular occasion.
Yes, let me answer you right there, there are different types of confidence. They are not all the same. Every occasion has a type of confidence that suits it very well. There are some instances where you are called to be confidently calm, composed and collected if you are to act appropriately.
An example of such a scenario is when you are meeting in-laws in our culture. Your confidence is better shown in how grounded you are. However, there are instances where you are expected to overtly exhibit initiative, enthusiasm and creativity. This type of confidence is usually for those in the arts industry such as actors, TV presenters and singers. The same thing can pass as confidence or wayward depending on where it is done and by whom.
One of the most popular clothing styles especially for men these days is slim fit clothing items. The reason why slim fit clothes are becoming popular is because they usually take the shape of the body and therefore come out much better. With slim fit clothes it’s almost like everyone can afford designer and tailor-made clothes.
Confidence is derived when you play to your strengths. This means that you have to be aware of your strengths and weaknesses. Know what you can do and what you cannot do. Playing in your strong areas is just like putting on a slim fit design clothes; it will bring out your power moves and this has the effect of portraying you as a confident and flawless person. Know your weaknesses and either work at them or on how to compensate for them.
Those who have learnt to dress for themselves first before they dress for other people are usually the people who always know how to look good and how to re-invent their look. They can experiment with their look and they are not afraid to be trendsetters.
The same happens with confidence in life. The most confident people are trendsetters. They do not follow the mob but the mob follows them. They wield that powerful power because they know what makes them feel good and they are not afraid to feel good.
These people are not afraid to challenge norms to express their true self. They regularly re-invent themselves but still seem confident or even get better. The secret lies behind breaking loose from the chains of “we” that tie most people in our society. Most people cannot liberate themselves from the chains of “we” which is precisely why they can’t express themselves, and when you can’t express yourself you can’t be confident.
After you are done dressing up in front of your mirror, remind yourself to pick up your confidence and put it on because if you don’t no one will do it for you.
Till next week guys, God bless you all.
