The 28-year-old musician has proved that hard work is the stuff that stars are made of judging from the amount of effort that he put into the album that is receiving favourable airplay on the local radio stations.
Pinjisi’s experience working with Amuli as well as Tedius Matsito’s Ngwenya Brothers comes in handy and this is evidenced by the good songs on the album such as ‘Dadi”, “Dai Varipo”, “Zoona”, “Wenyama”, “Ngoma Yemabudya” and “Ivai Nesu”.
The title track “Dadi” is a love song that showers praise on a beautiful girl, while “Dai Varipo” is a track about orphans who are ruing the death of their parents following the trials and tribulations they are experiencing.
“Ivai Nesu” is a call to God to guard over his people while “Wenyama” reminds people of how life on earth is transient.
Recorded at ZMC, the album is Pinjisi’s second release after “Umbiridzo” released in 2007.
Born on November 19, 1983 in Mutoko, Pinjisi’s passion for music started at the age of nine and he took it up. On completing his Ordinary Level in 2001, Pinjisi joined Ngwenya Brothers, singing with the likes of the late Michael, Jabulani and Domingo Matsito, brothers to Tedius famed for hits like “Manyemwe Emhuru”.
Pinjisi helped Ngwenya Brothers release four albums before joining Amuli’s Zvishavane Sounds. He played the bass guitar on Amuli’s album “By Ginya” which caused a stir in 2006.
Pinjisi is currently working on his third album. He has performed in several cities around Zimbabwe and in Mozambique.
