And Tito (58) said: “He should spend the rest of his life in jail.”
Murray (58) was convicted in Los Angeles on Monday of involuntary manslaughter by injecting Jacko with a massive dose of hospital anaesthetic propofol while working as his personal medic.
While behind bars the doctor is to feature in a documentary for US network NBC, screened in the UK by Channel 4. In it Murray reveals Jacko’s last words were: “Let me have some milk.”
That was the tragic singer’s code for white-coloured propofol, which he craved to help him sleep.
The doctor said: “He was pleading, and begging me, to please, please, let him have some milk. That was the only thing that would work. He really could not sleep. Have you ever seen the Thriller image
when he was made up? He looked that hysterical.”
Murray had hoped to make £1 million from the programme but makers NBC insist he will not be paid.
Despite Tito’s blast, the maximum sentence Murray can face is four years for causing Jackson’s death, aged 50, in June 2009. He will be sentenced in three weeks.
It is widely believed it will be cut to two years because of overcrowding in California jails. Some reports yesterday suggested he could be out in three weeks, wearing an electronic tag.
Tito said: “It is unfair if Dr Murray only gets four years for what he did. He was supposed to guide Michael to better health and safety and do what was right for him.
“Instead, Dr Murray did not follow the law. Doctors are supposed to save lives, not to take them.”
He added: “The verdict did not bring any closure to me because I miss my brother every moment, every minute of every day and he should be here now. I didn’t feel relieved when I heard the verdict. I always knew Dr Murray would be guilty.”
Jacko’s mum Katherine (81) said: “The verdict was bitter-sweet. I felt that the jury did the right thing. I was drained emotionally and the pain and hurt I feel inside has never left as they cannot bring Michael back. Dr Murray deserves a longer jail sentence. Sons are supposed to bury their parents – not parents bury their sons.
“I can never forgive Dr Murray for what he did to Michael. Michael’s three beautiful children miss him and my family and I grieve for him each day. His kids say to me, ‘Daddy would do this, or Daddy would do that’. It is always something beautiful about their father.”
Katherine said she felt sorry for Murray’s mum, who looked “lost” after the verdict was announced. She tried to speak to her in court but was ignored.
Michael’s sister Rebbie (61) said the trial brought back horrible memories – including Jacko’s own trial for molestation six years ago, in which he was acquitted.
She said: “All the stress and pressure hit me. When the verdict was read I felt numb. Michael was no longer here.
“What this man did was kill my brother. He was put on Earth to save lives, not destroy them. He is fully responsible for taking my brother’s life and I can never forgive him, neither will my family. I can never forgive him.”
The family also revealed that Michael’s children were “elated” at the verdict. Their comments came in a tearful talk yesterday with Michael’s best pal, David Gest (58).
David, who had known the star since he was 15, told The Sun the Jackson family saw the result as a “very sad victory”. – The Sun.
