A TEARFUL Mutare man approached the civil courts last week praying for a protection order against his wife whom he described as abusive.
Raphael Zuva appeared before Mrs Yeukai Chigodora praying to be protected against his wife, Muhwahwa.
He told the court that his wife was in the habit of shouting at him at night, insulting and biting him as well.
“Your Worship, this woman is a nuisance in our matrimonial home. I want the law to protect me, for I am sick and tired of her violent behaviour.
“She is in the habit of shouting at me during the night even though I would have done nothing wrong to her.
“At one time she bite me after we had a misunderstanding. Please I need the law to protect me. If she continues to do so, what kind of a role model is she to our children?
“She is violent and disrespectful to an extent that we can even exchange blows in front of my parents and I wonder what type of a wife she is. I am tired of her behaviour Your Worship,” said Zuva.
However, Muhwahwa had no kind words for him as she revealed to the court that Zuva was the one disturbing her peace and that he infected her with an STI .
“This man is a misery in my life. It is only that I am a strong woman. He always assaults me and is in the habit of sleeping around with many girlfriends.
“His girlfriends called in my presence and I even overheard their conversation calling me a dog and all sorts of evil names. At one time his girlfriend called him at midnight and we then had a misunderstanding, which prompted him to assault me.
“My right arm is now useless as I am speaking, because he broke it when assaulting,” said Muhwahwa.
Mrs Chigodora granted the protection order, which orders both parties to observe peace with each other.
