Hubby tired of making police reports

Court Reporter
A SENIOR citizen from Mbare almost brought court proceedings to a standstill when he demanded his stepdaughter to get out of the court room, accusing her of having supernatural powers. Pearson Ngoma told magistrate Ms Olivia Mariga that proceedings should not start when his stepdaughter Beauty Chibarinya was still in attendance.
“In 2005 in court 10 here at the Harare Civil Court I went deaf and dumb during court proceedings after Beauty used her supernatural powers against me. When she gets out we can then proceed with the matter peacefully,” he said.

Ms Mariga told Ngoma that he had no proof to substantiate his claim and ordered the matter to proceed. Ngoma was seeking a protection order against his wife Victoria Moyo. Ngoma told the court that he was bashed by his wife for being talkative and at one time she spat in his face.

“This woman is a dangerous liar. I have made several reports to the police and I am tired of going to the police. If she continues beating me I will hurt her one day,” he said.

The court heard that whenever Moyo visited her daughter Beauty she came home and fought her husband. Ngoma told the court that Beauty was a bad influence to his wife who ran away to her house for one year. He demanded that his wife be ordered to reside with her daughter.

Responding to the allegations Moyo told the court that her husband was the most talkative person she had ever met.
“I ended up moving out of our matrimonial home after finding living with him unbearable. Look at his frail age, is it possible for anyone to beat him?” she said.

The court heard that there was bad blood between Ngoma and his stepdaughter.
“Beauty owns a house but she stays in the rural areas and I don’t know why she is part of today’s proceedings.”
Ms Mariga granted the protection order in Ngoma’s favour.
