Huggiez combines with Dongo in Gweru

Entertainment Reporter
Top DJs Witness “Chuman” Matema and Ronald “D-train” Chiwanza will tonight team up with R’n’B star Trevor Dongo for a show dubbed “College Shutdown” at the Midlands Hotel in Gweru.

This is the first time the trio will be playing for the Gweru fans minus the other Huggiez Entertainment member Kudzi Marudza who is staying in Harare to handle other commitments.

The show coincides with end of the semester at Midlands State University as most students will be closing for holiday hence the theme “College Shutdown” and is likely to attract a good crowd. Dongo is the probably the most wanted local artiste outside the Zimdancehall craze and is currently riding high with his album “Two Steps To Go”.

He has had his fair share of international tours and recently returned from a successful UK tour.

It is the local market that has been starved and the “just married” singer said the show was one of those meant to reach out to local fans at every given opportunity.

On his Facebook page he posted: “Team Trevor D with Huggiez Entertainment paGweru Hatisikumira” in reference to his hit track “Hatisikumira”.

On the other hand Chuman and D-train have a legion of fans across the country through their popular radio programmes on Power FM and SFM respectively and have over the years created a brand name in the entertainment industry with Huggiez Entertainment that includes the veteran Marudza.

“This year we want to reach out as much as possible. Although we are known for old skool music, we can also handle any crowd and teaming with Trevor D is something interesting and who knows we might just have a nationwide tour like that but for now Gweru is our first stop,” said D-train.

As far as Gweru and the surrounding towns are concerned, the Midlands Hotel is the place to be tonight.
