What started as a simple Freshman Party on Independence Night quickly grew into a packed, high-energy celebration at a nightspot in Bulawayo, but it was Hulengende who ultimately defined the night.
From the start, local DJs kept the crowd engaged with a lively mix of Zimdancehall and South African hits, setting a strong foundation. Early performances by Dave Neyman and Mugaratia added to the momentum, with fans singing along and staying locked into the vibe.
However, all eyes were on Hulengende.
Arriving in the early hours of the morning alongside his wife Malloti, he was met with a roaring reception that showed just how much the crowd had been waiting for him. Calm and confident, he stepped onto the stage and immediately took control.
He delivered a powerful set filled with fan favourites like High, Chingonzwisisa Baby, and Waponda Moyo 2. Each track sparked loud singalongs, raised hands, and nonstop movement, as the crowd fed off his energy.
Hulengende created a moment of connection — raw, loud, and memorable.
