Hummer and Tongues schools tourney kicks off

The tournament will end this afternoon.
The event features private, government and mission schools.

Ransone Chimonyo, the event coordinator, was yesterday pleased with the turnout by the schools and believes the event will became an annual event.

“We are sponsoring the above tournament as part of our social responsibility and it has drawn schools from various provinces.

“There will be a mix of private, government and mission schools who will play for the Peter Lovemore Trophy.

“Our aim is to get a soccer tournament that can be equated to the Cottco rugby festival although it will take us time.

“The event will be an annual one and we hope to increase the number of participants as time goes on. The format will be a round robin with five schools placed in four pools,” Chimonyo said.
