Hwange edge Buffaloes

From the start of the match Hwange pinned Buffaloes in their own pen.
Just 20 seconds into the match, Chipangano’s Rodwell Chinyengetere slid past two defenders before being brought down by Patrick Alfas, just a metre from the penalty box resulting in a freekick.

Another attempt by Hwange after Chinyengetere sent Allan Tavarwisa through did not result in a goal.
Hwange could have scored more goals but it was a tale of missed chances as team captain Aaron

Katebe headed a good pass over the bar from a corner kick taken by Gilbert Zulu in the 24th minute.
Seconds later, Tavarwisa spurned another chance when he hit the goal post after navigating his way through the Buffaloes defenders.

Hwange finally got a breakthrough in the 26th minute when a penalty was awarded after Katebe was pulled down by Philip Chaindasaita.

Gerald Ndlovu sent goalminder Tapiwa Mafunga flying in the opposite direction.
The first minutes of the second half were action packed as the wounded Buffaloes fought back strongly.
On 48 minutes Lloyd Katongomara shot straight at goalkeeper Timothy Sibanda.

Sensing the possibility of a draw, Chipangano upped their game when in the 68th minute Zulu delivered a brilliant cross to Farai Vimisai but the pass was not reciprocated.

In the 78th minute Tavarwisa had his effort saved by Mafunga.

Six minutes later the Buffaloes were given a life line after being awarded an indirect freekick after Sibanda wasted time with the ball. They however failed to utilise the opportunity when Phenias Bamusi spurned the chance, directing his effort to the wall.
