Hwange 1-0 Blackrock
MARCELLIN Mlilo was the hero of the day as Hwange leapt to the top of the Zifa Southern Region League table with a brilliant free kick against youthful Blackrock in the Colliery Derby on Wednesday afternoon.
Mlilo’s effort was worth the three points, an effort curled beyond the reach of the Blackrock diving goalkeeper before a packed Hwange Stadium.
The 1-0 win took Hwange’s points tally to 41 level with Bulawayo Chiefs and Nkayi United as the competition for the sole ticket to the Castle Lager Premiership hots up.
Hwange has a plus 23 goal difference, second placed Chiefs 22 and Nkayi 19.
However, the coal miners have played more games than the other clubs.
