Hwange youths urged to utilise economic opportunities

THERE is an abundance of business opportunities for young people to take up in Hwange, as the district has the potential to become a key enabler in strengthening industrial transformation in country.

This is the view of Zanu-PF aspiring Member of Parliament for Hwange Central Cde Reeds Dube, who said developmental projects in the area, which have been undertaken by the Second Republic, led by President Mnangagwa, were enough to entice the electorate to vote for the ruling party in the upcoming elections.

Cde Dube made reference to economic projects done by Government such as the expansion of Hwange Power Station’s Unit 7 and 8, construction of Gwayi-Shangani Lake, opening of new coal mines and the use of devolution funds in infrastructural development.

President Mnangagwa

“The projects were a really good move in that they created a lot of employment for our youths. In fact, young people have to give thanks to that. Results are there for anyone to understand that the Zanu-PF Government has done a lot for the people of Hwange and the country. We now have no worries about electricity shortages and that speaks volumes on the dedication of bringing economic development,” said Cde Dube.

For Cde Dube, these economic developments place Zanu PF as the only party that has shown it has people’s concerns at heart and as such deserves to be voted for. Known for his enormous philanthropic work and astute business acumen, Cde Dube said it was now time for Zanu-PF to the reclaim Hwange Central constituency, if residents really desire lasting economic empowerment.

“I feel that it’s high time that we make Hwange great again, as an urban settlement that offers a lot of economic benefits to its young people. To the residents of Hwange, in particular everyone in Hwange urban, this is the right time to open our eyes and take advantage of projects presented by Government. From the expansion of Hwange Unit 7 and 8, we have seen job opportunities being availed and families being able to provide food on the table. This is all thanks to the Second Republic, we have to support that. Our young people want a secure future and that means provision of job and entrepreneurial opportunities. I have always had the dream of seeing urban Hwange being a place of growth, where everyone has an equal chance to excel and change their lives for the better.”

Although Cde Dube is touted as one of Hwange’s longest serving politicians, he has however, failed to get the mandate to represent Hwange Central, in what he decries as unfortunate and would encourage the electorate to have a change of mind.

After years of failing to win, Cde Dube is optimistic that this time he will do it.

“I retaliate and say Zanu-PF is the only political party that will do Hwange Central good. May our people rethink and see the reality. Our vote for the party in the upcoming elections will be a victory for everyone. Away from my political life, I have been a selfless servant of the people of Hwange. The people can testify to this. I have been working with the people even before I decided to represent them,” he said.

Cde Dube has over the years assisted in the drilling of community boreholes, providing material and financial support to bereaved families. The aspiring MP has also extended a hand in paying school fess for vulnerable children, to the extent of exposing them to entrepreneurship opportunities.
