I am pleased with playing field: Rwodzi

Sukoluhle Ndlovu Midlands Correspondent—

Zanu-PF candidate for Chirumanzu constituency Cde Barbra Rwodzi has said she is pleased with the playing field so far, as there has not been any politically motivated violence in the constituency.

Cde Rwodzi said she was glad that people had taken heed of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s call for peace as the country geared for harmonised elections on July 30.

“As we approach the 2018 harmonised elections, am glad to say that the playing field is perfectly level as we haven’t seen or experienced any politically motivated violence,” she said. “It shows that people have listened to the President’s gospel of peace.

“The people in my constituency are also excited about the elections and have applauded President Mnangagwa for advocating for violence free elections.”

Mrs Rwodzi said there was need for more clinics in the area and the provision of water supplies to the health facilities.

“I have noticed that women, particularly those that are pregnant, have to travel long distances to most clinics while carrying water because most of these facilities do not have the precious liquid,” she said.

“Therefore, there is a need for more clinics in the area so that people have easy access to health facilities with water.”

Mrs Rwodzi donated stationery and building material to schools in the Chirumanzu area.

“I have donated stationery and building materials to a number of schools to improve education in the area,” she said. “Education is every child’s right therefore development in schools is a must.”
