SONGBIRD Feli Nandi says she didn’t expect to win two gongs at the Zima 23 awards ceremony on Saturday.
The multi-tasking diva, who honed her skills under Mbeu’s mentorship at Mhodzi Tribe, told H-Metro:
“I did not expect this but all the same I am happy to be recognised and inspired to do more.”
After her triumph in the Outstanding Female Musician and Best Alternative categories, Feli Nandi vowed to work even harder.
“At the moment, I am working on my second album, which I cannot give full details about.
“People should just expect good music.
“I want to have a collaboration with a female and male singer,” she said.
The songbird, who doubles as a fashion designer, said the victory has opened new doors for her in East Africa.
“There are people who have rewarded me for the hard work and will be touring Tanzania in November.
“It’s a deal which I clinched after winning the two awards and this shows that I have people who love my brand and music.”
Feli Nandi has been releasing a string of singles ever since she left Mbeu two years ago.
She has one album to her credit, namely Izwi.
The diva is currently working on her second eight-track album.
“The date of the release will be announced soon but at the moment it is work in progress,” she said.
