RISING sungura artist, Tindo Ngwazi, who is set to launch his sixth studio album on July 27, the day he will also be celebrating his 34th birthday, says he does not compete with his brother Mark.

Tindo’s timing means that, for the first time since going separate ways six years ago, the two brothers would have released albums within a month of each other.

Mark unveiled his seventh release Huzukwende, on June 29.

Tindo said he is not competing with his brother Mark.

“Mark is like a father to me. He is the one who showed me the way and I owe everything that I have achieved in this journey to him,” said Tindo.

“He is fully behind me and I am also with him.

“His latest album Huzukwende is making waves and I am sure it will go places.”

After a long time in the shadows of his brother, Tindo is slowly digging himself out of the hole, especially after his hit song Musatipedzere Nguva, off last year’s offering Charadzwa,’ was voted the best song on Radio Zimbabwe’s prime Top 50 show on New Year’s eve.

And, the fans are eagerly waiting for the new release which the Adequate Sounds leader says is the best project he has ever done.

Titled Denga Rapindira, the album, carries six songs with Tindo saying the track Hama Chaidzo is the one to send shockwaves across the entertainment circles.

“I have decided to celebrate my 34th birthday in style this time around. I will be launching my sixth album on the day and I am promising fireworks,” he said.

“I am confident the latest album will make much more impact than the previous releases.

“There are songs that will appeal across the societal divide. But I think Hama Chaidzo will be a hit.

“Of course, all the other songs are very good, at least, from how I see it but Hama Chaidzo will surely be the one to dance to a lot.”

Other songs on Tindo’s latest album include Vakwasha Vekudhorobha, Toothpick, Ndafunga Zvekuenda, Zodzo, and the title track Denga Radaira.

Tindo has done five projects — Hapana Hapana (2019), Tamirira Judgement (2020), Vasundaidzi Vengarava (2021), Bhedhegubhe (2022) and Charwadza (2023).
