HE usually plays tough guy roles on South African television but Israel Matseke Zulu will be in Zimbabwe next weekend on a programme that supports women’s hygiene.
The pledge-a-pad event will take place for the first time in the border town of Plumtree and Zulu will be the guest of honour. It is organised by local disc jockey Dj Yugoe and socialite Handsome Sibanda.
The two promoters say the show is driven by what they saw when growing up in the small town’s impoverished areas.
“Growing up we saw challenges that our community faced and we decided to do a pledge event to give back to the community since we are somewhere in life now,” said Sibanda.
This will be Zulu’s third visit to Plumtree.
“He fell in love with the spirit of our people when he first visited. He then promised to give back to Plumtree by contributing money once every year,” said Sibanda.
This event will be supported by organisations such as Plumtree ambassadors, Silksands Investments, Plumtree Bakery and many other different individuals. It’s set to be an annual event held in October.
