A MAN has confirmed he plotted to kill his grandfather.

Howver, he said this happened when he was drunk and was now begging for forgiveness.

Brian Kupara pleaded guilty to threatening to kill Matara Augustine Marozva, when he appeared in the Mbare Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Kupara will be back in court today for sentencing. Prosecutor Blessing Chibowere said on April 9, at around 3am, Kupara, who was at Marozva’s place, started splashing alcohol and insulting him.

The court heard that Kupara accused his grandfather of causing the death of his grandmother.

During the misunderstanding, Kupara said: “Nhasi panototsvuka ropa. Ndoda kukuuraya nedemo.”

Kupara told the court that he was not in the right state of mind when he uttered those words.

“Yes, I may have said the words because I was drunk.

“My apologies for the misconduct and insulting my grandfather,” he said.

Kupara begged for the court’s leniency and promised that he would not misbehave again.
