A HARARE woman took her ex-husband to court accusing of him of neglecting the upkeep of his 12 –year-old twins.
Daisylyn Mubayi approached the court demanding US$300 in maintenance, saying her ex-husband, Sean Kadowa, was doing nothing for his children.
“He is a car dealer and he makes US$2 000 per month, which means he is able to take good care of his children.
“He has another child, but currently he has not married. The US$300 will cover every need of his children,” she said.
In response, Sean told the court that he doesn’t earn that huge amount of money every month.
“I will pay everything and offer US$70 for food.
“All along I have been staying with my children and she took them last year for Christmas holiday and she hasn’t returned them although schools opened.
“For the past two years, she never offered anything as a mother, but now she has the audacity to tell me that I have been abusing my daughters.”
Magistrate Ayanda Dhlamini granted US$70 in addition to Sean paying school fees and buying uniforms twice a year.
