I would have killed her, hubby tells court

A Harare man yesterday told the court that he would have killed his wife a long time ago for physically and verbally abusing him if he owned a gun.
Lloyd Ndoro said this at the Harare Civil Court where he was seeking a protection order against his wife Teclar Chaita.
He wanted Chaita evicted from his house.

“If I had a gun I would have killed this woman a long time ago because she is in the habit of physically and verbally abusing me,” he said.
“I divorced her when I caught her pants down with another man, but still she doesn’t want to go away from my house. She steals my money every day and breaks my windowpanes whenever she becomes violent.

“She harasses my tenants and now they are all threatening to leave because of her rude behaviour.”
But Chaita disputed Ndoro’s accusations, saying they were fabrications.

“He is lying because he is the one who always physically and verbally abuses me and sometimes he sends our tenants to come and harass me,” she said.

“He never caught me pants down with anyone as he said, but he no longer wants me at our matrimonial home and that’s all.”
The magistrate Gamuchirai Siwardi granted the protection order which barred Chaita from physically and verbally assaulting Ndoro.

She ordered Ndoro to approach the right court if he wants Chaita evicted from his house.
