Ignatius Mketekete to play at Zambia Open

Mketekete is among a host of local professionals who have entered the Zambia Open, which has 144 players.
Winner of last season’s Zambezi Tour order of merit, Mketekete will tee off at 6:30 am this morning with Zimbabwe-based Portuguese professional, Roy da Costa, and Germany’s Gary Birch Jnr.

Locals fared well to book their places in the tournament.
Ryan Cairns was the only local who was exempted from qualification after winning the Vodacom Origins.

Nyasha Muyambo will take part in his first international professional tournament.
Muyambo had a decent show at the Marange Resources Pro-Am.

Tongo Charamba, Robson Saurombe, Mohammad Rauf Mandhu, Dean Schoultz, Micky Hough, Tranos Muradzikwa, Phillip Tshuma and Nabeel Umerji complete the locals crew.
