Zanu PF Midlands Province Youth League has warned MDC-Alliance against its plot to cause mass chaos through their planned violent nationwide demonstrations on the 31st of July.

In a statement, Zanu-PF secretary for administration — Midlands Province Youth League, Cde Justice Mayor Wadyajena, implored Zimbabweans to ignore the call, adding that they would do everything to protect the lives of people from Covid-19, which will be jeopardised as a result of demonstrations.

The MDC-Alliance has been reportedly working in cahoots with a number of unsavoury civil society elements to undermine Government’s efforts to contain Covid-19 and also going against the will of the Zimbabwean people by tying to usurp power.

Cde Wadyajena said the conspiracy was part of a wider plan to overthrow the constitutionally elected Government of Zimbabwe led by President Mnangagwa.

We will do everything in our means to prevent violence of any kind and avoid the spilling of any blood whatsoever or playing into the hands of those who would want to have the country further sanctioned and divided,” said Cde Wadyajena.

| The demonstrations planned for 31 July serve as a smoke screen for what we know to be a clear intention to overthrow the Government of the day and is doubly irresponsible given the threat of a serious escalation in the spread of Covid-19.”

Cde Wadyajena implored Zimbabweans to ignore calls for demonstrations, adding that they should prioritise their safety first amid the pandemic.
