Ignore what they say

Pauline Matanda

WHILE Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue ruler.

“Your daughter is dead,” he said. “Do not bother the teacher anymore.”

Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Do not be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.” (Luke 8:49-50)

To continue believing in the Word of God for seemingly impossible solutions, you have to learn to ignore what others say that is contrary to the Word.

In this instance, Jesus had agreed to go and heal Jairus’ daughter.

On the way, He came across a situation that required urgent action — that of a bleeding woman.

After healing her, discouraging news came — Jairus’ daughter was dead.

Jesus was not moved by the evil report. He is the life and the resurrection; the life-giving spirit. Just put your trust in Him. Ignore what they say.

Isaiah 53:1 — “Who has believed our report and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?”

Do not be moved by evil reports on your way to your promised land.

The Red Sea or Jordan River must not move you. If we make God the focus of our journey, He will lead us through the challenges and roadblocks that try to divert us from the promised land.

Child of God, choose to believe in the Word more. Refuse to fear and choose to believe.

Anything contrary to the Word of God is an evil report. We refuse to listen to evil reports. Where they say it is impossible, we say it is possible.

I am glad it was Jesus who said to Jairus, “Do not be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”

Ignore whatever they are saying that is contrary to what Christ has said concerning your situation. He said you are a conqueror, so even if they bring news of defeat, ignore them.

He said you are healed, so no amount of sickness or pain should override what was said by the creator of the heavens and the earth.

They said you cannot rise; you have been in that ‘grave’ situation for days. Ignore them.
