MISS World Zimbabwe 2025 Courtney Jongwe (23) says she is humbled to have graced the opening ceremony of 72nd Miss World Festival where she donned a stunning traditional costume, proudly showcasing the rich heritage of the country.

The ceremony took place at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, India, and contestants from nearly 110 nations graced the stage in their stunning traditional costumes.

Courtney’s participation has sparked a wave of national pride, with many Zimbabweans praising her for representing them well with her traditional costume, beauty and brains.

Courtney expressed her gratitude for the  support she is getting from the country.

“72nd Miss World Opening Ceremony was an absolute success. I’m genuinely humbled and honoured to have represented our beautiful country of Zimbabwe.

“Thank you so much to Zimbabwe for your unwavering support, let us keep the fire burning.”

Each vibrant outfit told a unique story, reflecting cultural pride and timeless traditions.

From intricate embroidery to bold colours and symbolic designs, the evening was a true celebration of unity in diversity-proving that beauty transcends borders.

Courtney proudly showcased Zimbabwe’s rich cultural heritage, earning admiration from around the globe.

She wore a long brown dress, with the Zimbabwean bird all over it, and a green hat which complemented the flag .

The 23-year-old Chemical and Processing Engineering student the from Manicaland State University will join 119 other beauty contestants drawn from across the world when she enters Bootcamp today.
