Buoyed by the fast approaching money-spinning festive season, Jean said she was ready to set to tone and be counted among the best.

“I have been active on the showbiz scene but its only that I was doing mainly corporates gigs and performing at weddings among other private functions.

“In showbiz, there is a time when one needs to do self-introspection and then come back revitalised.

“In my case, I am making my return to club gigs this Friday with a show at Red Eagle in Ruwa,” she said.

Jean Masters said she was fired up and ready to silence her doubting Thomases.

“To be honest, I was hungry for club gigs and I feel I am good to go and those who have been saying nasty stuff about me need to come and judge.

“Being a female artist, it’s a huge challenge on its own because you are never accorded the respect that you deserve.

“There are those who will always come and try to demotivate you’re and I am here because of resilience which has kept me going,” she said.

Jean Masters, who lost her benefactor businessman J Masters on February 23 2010, has never looked back after being weaned off at Seasons Band “A”, which was fronted by Mudhara Weeds.

She has been holding solo shows for the past 12 eventful years.

Jean Masters has also been recording a series of singles among the Hupunyu Makata, which made her a favourite of many on the local showbiz landscape.

She has also backed top musicians daring lives shows among them Alick Macheso, Jah Prayzah and Suluman Chimbetu.
This Friday, the 4th of November, she will be in action at Eagle Café.
