NASH TV founder and businessman Tinashe Mutarisi has revealed that fatigue and mounting pressure led to his decision to shut down the popular entertainment brand.

Speaking exclusively to Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub, Mutarisi said the closure also marks the end of financial support for artistes who were signed or affiliated with the platform.
“I’m tired. Unfortunately, the artistes won’t be receiving any financial support,” said Mutarisi.

Nash Holdings later issued a formal statement announcing the immediate shutdown of all entertainment operations under the Nash TV banner, saying their foray into music and entertainment had not been part of the company’s long-term plan.

“Nash Holdings announces the immediate shutdown of its entertainment operations under the NashTV brand. Although music was never part of our long-term strategy, we have always valued our relationship with local artistes.

“During the Covid-19 era, Nash Lockdown evolved into NashTV, and we later supported several musicians with marketing, management, and promotional services. We are proud to have contributed to the rise of talents such as Saintfloew, Nisha Ts, Raymer, and Ninety6, just to mention a few, and strengthened Zimbabwe’s creative industry. We have communicated this transition to all artists previously under our care,” read part of the statement.

Despite stepping away from direct management, Nash Holdings said it will continue offering advisory support to artistes that they once worked with.

“While stepping away from direct management, we will continue to offer guidance and assist them in building their own recording studios and securing new professional managers for the next phase of their careers.

“We will appreciate your support as we refocus our efforts on mentoring entrepreneurs and the growth of Zimbabwean enterprise,” Nash Holdings said. – Follow on X: @mthabisi_mthire
