South African gospel artistes Rebecca Malope, Hlengiwe Mhlaba, Lusanda Spiritual Group, Tshepiso Motaung, Dumi Mkokstad, Bethusile Mcinga and jazz legend Tshepo Tshola did not manage to travel to Zimbabwe yesterday as they had not been cleared to perform here. The artistes billed to perform at a gospel extravaganza at Pelandaba Stadium in Gwanda over the weekend are now expected in Bulawayo today.

Show director, George Moyo, said the artistes had to cancel their flights yesterday as they had not been cleared by the Zimbabwe immigration officials.

“There were delays on the clearing of artistes by relevant authorities in Zimbabwe. But, they’ve all been cleared and we’ll be travelling to Zimbabwe tomorrow (today),” said Moyo.

He said they would land at the Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport at 3PM aboard a Fly Africa flight.

South African soapie actors Sechaba from Isidingo, and Nicholas from the now defunct Generations, who were also expected yesterday will now arrive today.
