In 2026 turn northwards

DEUTERONOMY 2:1-7
Then we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea, as the LORD spake unto me: and we compassed mount Seir many days. [2] And the LORD spake unto me, saying, [3] Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward. [4] And command thou the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the coast of your brethren the children of Esau, which dwell in Seir; and they shall be afraid of you: take ye good heed unto yourselves therefore: [5] Meddle not with them; for I will not give you of their land, no, not so much as a foot breadth; because I have given mount Seir unto Esau for a possession. [6] Ye shall buy meat of them for money, that ye may eat; and ye shall also buy water of them for money, that ye may drink. [7] For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.
Israel had stayed too long around a mountain while they were journeying from Egypt to the Promised Land.
Of course, they could not leave unless God gave them a signal to move on. They had camped around the mountain while they waited for the signal from the pillar of Fire for them to resume their journey.
God had told them not to meddle with Esau whose land they had camped on. They were supposed to respect the inheritance of Esau because they were on their way to their own. But they had stayed too long without continuing with their journey. They were now in a comfort zone. They were setting up as if they had arrived. They had begun to treat that land as their destination. God then came and disrupted it. He told them to remove and move on. They were supposed to turn northwards.
That is my message today. Turn northwards. Don’t remain on your comfort zone of last year. The Year 2025 was not your destination. You were on a journey.
Whatever you achieved last year is not your destination. You were en-route. You were moving forward. What you achieved last year is not all you can achieve. You can achieve more. Your achievements of last year are your bridge to your new year.Whatever you were doing that made you money, use it better to make more money. Sharpen your skills of yesteryear and be poised for more wins this year.
Be more innovative. Don’t rest on your successes of yesteryear.
If your sales were good, find ways of achieving more sales. If your business was good, find more innovative ways of doing better. Turn northwards.
If your system was not working for your business, turn northwards. Find new ways and means. Restructure. Introduce new systems. If your goals were too small, make bigger goals. If your strategy did not work, find how to make it work. If your spiritual life was mediocre, turn northwards. Do not remain where you were. Read the Bible a little more. Pray a little more. Keep evolving. Embrace the new.
Paul does not evade this truth. He says in Philippians 3:12-14:
Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. [13] Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, [14] I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
He did not rest on his last experiences. He had seen so many miracles but he was not satisfied by that. Still, he wanted more. He was pressing forward. He had to forget the things that he had achieved before. He had a target to reach. He set himself higher goals.
If you will depend on God, this year you will achieve more. God does not lower his standards; He keeps adding to what He does. He will give you better health, more successes. More ideas.
If He helped you last year, He will help you more this year. You will move closer to your promised land this year.
You project will progress better. Your faith will rise. Your desires will be met.
Only do not remain on the same mountain. The mountain you encamped on last year, it is time to leave it. Do not remain in the camp of murmuring and complaining. Speak positively and never be negative. Your positive attitude will bring you into the promised land. Joshua and Caleb testified that they were more than able to possess the land. They took it. Those that complained, perished in the wilderness.
