Zimpride, a social business network will host the inaugural Miss Zimpride pageant on July 12 at the Belgravia Sports Club. One of the event organisers, Sharon Mandaza said they are happy to host the pageant and there are more than 30 models that will be vying for the crown. “This is our first time to run a pageant and we believe it is going to be successful.
“There are 35 models from various modelling agencies,” she said.
“The pageant is meant to support and nurture local talent in young ladies. We believe the ladies have the potential to run big businesses.”
Running under the theme “Bringing Talent to Light” the contest will see 20 models making it in the final list.
Preparations are gathering momentum as the voting has commenced.
“Voting has already started on our website www.zimpride.com and only 20 models with outstanding votes will contest on the day.
“So we are encouraging people to vote for their favourite choices now,” said Mandaza.
There are four crowns lined up for the day: Miss Zimpide, first and second princesses as well as Miss Personality.
“The queen will walk away with a Galaxy tab, fashion make-over, three outfits among other things and will automatically become the brand ambassador.”
Mandaza said plans are underway to make this an annual event.
Over the weekend, the models took the opportunity to donate an assortment of goods to the Tokwe-Mukosi flood victims at the Soap and Shirt Festival held at Belgravia Sports Club.
