A 41-year-old Bulawayo man has been arraigned before the Western Commonage Magistrates’ Court facing charges of indecently assaulting two minors.
The man (name withheld) appeared before Mr Douglas Chikwekwe and was remanded in custody to 16 October.
The prosecutor, Mr Milton Moyo told the court that the accused person allegedly assaulted two minors aged six and eight, who are both his neighbours.
“Circumstances are that on 30 August 2024 and at the accused person’s place of residence, the complainant was playing outside the home with her friend (the other complainant).

“While they were playing, their ball fell into the accused’s room which was open. They got inside the house to pick up the ball and the accused person held her, he then undressed her by removing her panties, laid her on the bed facing upwards and started performing sexual movements while he was dressed and naked on his upper body,” said Mr Moyo.
The court heard that he did the same to the other complainant and the matter only came to light when other minor children reported to their parents, who then made follow-ups but could not locate complainants at that time.
“They later found them at another complainant’s house and interviewed them. Upon interviews the complainants indicated that the accused person abused them,” said Mr Moyo.
