VUBACHIWKWE MINE

Vubachikwe Gold Mine in Gwanda over the past fortnight partnered with Government through the Ministry of Health and Child Care in a programme that saw the immunisation of thousands of people from the mine village including workers and Sabiwa Primary School pupils.

The immunisation of pupils was against elephantiasis (lymphatic filariasis) and was well received. This is in line with Government efforts to deal with the disease following outbreaks in Kariba and other areas earlier this year.

The pupils were first served with a hearty meal before medication was administered as the medication is to be taken after a decent meal.
