Independence gala for Centenary

Entertainment Reporter
Centenary residents will be treated to a rare event today as resident promoter Zakaria Five of Changaz Promotions hosts an Independence gala. The music treat will begin at the main celebration centre for the district where at least seven artistes will perform for free at Chinyani Primary School grounds.
Later in the evening the singers will shift base to Club Changaz in St Albert’s, where an overnight gig will take place.

The artistes include King Tazvida and Boys DzeSmoko, Sam Mabukwa and Ngosimbi Crew, Last Paurosi and Jatropha Express, Potfa Mopo and Zinawa.

Malvin Kamadengera and Bright Stars, while home music groups, Muchechetere Express and Muzenda Express will also play.

Five said the district has a deep relationship with the liberation struggle and the subsequent independence and hence it was important to celebrate independence in style.

“We have chosen a wide variety of musicians so as to cater for everyone.

We want people to celebrate independence together in song and dance,” he said.
