Indian industry delegation meets Vice President Chiwenga to discuss economic collaboration

A DELEGATION from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) visited Vice President Dr Constantino Chiwenga this morning at the New Munhumutapa Boardroom, marking a significant step towards enhancing economic ties between India and Zimbabwe.

The visiting group comprises business leaders from various sectors, including agro-processing, manufacturing of agricultural equipment, pharmaceuticals, and information and communication technology (ICT).
A major aim of the meeting is to explore opportunities for collaboration and investment in Zimbabwe’s growing economy, particularly in key sectors that are vital for national development.

The CII’s visit comes at a time when Zimbabwe seeks to strengthen its industrial base and attract foreign investment.
The expertise of the group in agro-processing and technology aligns with Zimbabwe’s goals to improve agricultural productivity and enhance its pharmaceutical sector.

Vice President Chiwenga welcomed the delegation, emphasising the importance of fostering bilateral trade and investment. He expressed optimism about the potential partnerships that could arise from the discussions, which could benefit both nations economically.

The meeting represents an ongoing effort to build robust economic relationships and encourage foreign investment in Zimbabwe, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to sustainable development and growth.
