in Dema, Cde Sekeramayi said the rest of Africa would emulate what Zimbabwe was doing to empower its citizens.
“It is important to vote for a leader and Government that preserves local resources for indigenous people. Indigenisation is a struggle which is going to benefit future generations.
“Now that the MDC-T has realised that many Zanu-PF implemented programmes were successful, they are now hijacking them. These programmes were initiated by President Mugabe before their party came into existence.
“Independence was achieved after many heroes sacrificed their lives and it is vital for people not to let down the fallen and living heroes.
“It is through their efforts that people now farm on fertile lands which had previously been grabbed from our ancestors,” Cde Sekeramayi said.
He said through Zanu-PF originated policies, many people were now proud farmers of tobacco, maize among other crops which whites gave the impression black people could not grow.
“It is important that Zanu-PF leaders control vital ministries to ensure farmers have adequate capital and lines of credit.
“President Mugabe goes to address people and listens to what they want. Tsvangirai is going around and insulting people.
“A true leader has to address the plight of the people,” he said.
Cde Sekeramayi took a swipe at MDC-T and its Western allies for initiating and imposing sanctions after realising the country’s economy was destined for greatness.
Addressing the same gathering, Lands, Land Reform and Resettlement Minister Hebert Murerwa said it was important to preserve the legacy created by fallen and living heroes.
“Several leaders were expelled from schools because of their discerning voices during the colonial era. Through that we now have more than one million beneficiaries of the land reform programme that came through the guidance of President Mugabe,” he said.
