Indomitable Lions face Cape Verde

On today’s list of Caf 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers, African giants Cameroon are preparing to do battle against Cape Verde at Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo, while Gambia and Seychelles will meet in Morocco for their respective Group F encounter.

The Indomitable Lions currently occupy second spot in Group D after their initial set of World Cup qualifiers.

Cameroon bagged a 3-0 win against Mauritius in their first Group D fixture, as Bryan Mbuemo, Georges-Kevin N’Koudou and Frank Magri got their names on the scoresheet at the Japoma Stadium on 17 November 2023.

Cameroon then recorded a 1-1 stalemate with Libya in their next qualifier, taking them to four points after two matches.

Sitting in third position in Group D, Cape Verde go into their next qualifying assignment on the back of a 0-0 draw with Angola, which was followed up by a 2-0 victory over Eswatini.

Over in Morocco, Gambia and Seychelles will look to get back to winning ways when they do battle at Stade Municipal de Berkane tonight.

Gambia, who are fifth in Group F, kicked off their World Cup qualifying campaign with a 3-2 loss against Burundi at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium on 16 November 2023.

The Scorpions then suffered a 2-0 defeat against Cote d’Ivoire at the same stadium in their next fixture.

The Seychelles on the other hand, have one of the worst records in the current Caf World Cup qualifiers so far after two matches played.

Following a 9-0 defeat against Cote d’Ivoire and a 5-0 loss against Kenya, the Pirates linger at the bottom of Group F with a steep -14 goal difference.
