Indoor bikes for spinning and cycling

HELLO gentle readers. I hope I find you well.

This week I have chosen to talk about the indoor bikes that are used for spinning and cycling while you are in the gym. Spinning classes are a great way to get into the various workouts of burning calories and keeping your muscles in shape. However, one has to have a high tolerance for exercise bikes and being cooped up inside a room full of other sweaty people for this to be a satisfying alternative to the real thing.

Spinning classes are done in a fitness studio with various light and music settings to create an energized atmosphere. Instructors guide participants through workout phases, warm-up, steady up tempo cadences, sprints, climbs and cool downs. You control resistance on your bike to make the pedalling as easy or difficult as you choose. Constant adjustment is normal. All you need is workout clothes, towel and a water bottle. Spinning bikes have toe clips so you can wear tennis shoes or any other comfortable trainers.

In a spinning class all the bikes are lined up in the fitness studio with a rider on each one, spinning the pedals at a rapid pace. The lights are turned down, pumped up music fills the room and an instructor with a headset, who sits atop of a lead bike, calls out commands. The riders’ workout as one group-uniformed. They rise as one, pedals spinning faster as the grimace with exertion, sweat dripping off their bodies. It’s a group workout on the exercise bikes that’s lasts thirty to seventy five minutes. Classes are lead by the instructors who normally guide participates through the series of phases as previously mentioned, which take participates from the warm-up to more challenging phases and then to a period of peak effort (more strength and energy) followed by cool down.

In spinning classes, the intensity of the workout is influenced by a number of aspects such as cadence or pedal rate, resistance of the bikes flywheel, which can be continually adjusted throughout the class as well as the rider’s position which also determines the intensity of the exercise. During this class participates determine their own exertion on an individual basis. Usually participates will do what they feel comfortable with or should I say what works for them.

The bottom line is that it is an effective workout, it allows one to train at anytime and also if you vary the routines it keeps things fresh. It’s great for ability levels. You don’t have to wear helmets unlike the outdoor bikes. You are not on a real bike so you have to push yourself for maximum effort.

It is also mainly based on the load or dose of the exercise, which is the duration, intensity, frequency and type of exercise. A spinning class really helps in weight loss, fitness (which is your cardio vascular system) and also to tone legs. With all the combinations of this, the desired training response is achieved.
