CONTROVERSIAL social media influencer, Vimbai Dzingirai Tanyanyiwa, appeared in court yesterday facing charges of cyberbullying.
Harare magistrate Noticia Shenje remanded her out of custody to January 31 for trial.
The socialite is said to have posted a message on her Facebook page attacking Pride Miti.
Miti claims that during a discussion about his former employer, ABWA, on October 25, Tanyanyiwa posted unsavoury claims about him on Facebook.
Part of the alleged post read:
“… he stole zvinosemesa kwete mbijana. I just shared little information, investors ngavasungise CEO and accountant cause their assets alone (of) US$1 million can be recovered.”
Tanyanyiwa is further alleged to have also posted on November 6 accusing Miti of having a hand in the US$1 million scandal that rocked ABWA.
“Her accountant Pride bought himself a house, installed solar, bought cars for himself and his wife, opened businesses, but both her and Shami are accusing an innocent person to cover their tracks,” read another post.
Miti lodged a complaint with the police, leading to Tanyanyiwa’s arrest.
