Information Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Nick Mangwana officiates International Training Programme Media Regulation ceremony

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Mr Nick Mangwana on Friday officiated at the International Training Programme (ITP 5) on Media Regulation certificate award ceremony held in Harare.

According to a post by the Ministry on its X (formerly Twitter) page, the Programme is organised by NIRAS Sween AB together with Fojo Media Institute/Linnaeus University, Global Reporting Sweden AB and international Media Support(IMS),under sponsorship of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).

The programme objective is to contribute to promotion and protection of institutional frameworks and ethical guidelines which govern self and co-regulation of the Media sector.

Participants gained increased knowledge in: Self regulatory/co-regulatory mechanisms operating in a statutory regulatory system; Media policies and the role of media in a democratic framework and tools to initiate and promote transformation/change initiatives.
