The film was produced and written by 23-year-old Fortune Tazvivinga and directed by Vincent Ngwenya and will be launched on the evening of 28 July.
In an interview yesterday, the producer-writer Tazvivinga said all was set for the premiere.
She said it would be a red carpet event, the dress code strictly formal.
“All is set for the premiere and the date is Saturday 28 July. It will be a red carpet event and the dress code is strictly formal for gentlemen, and women should wear evening or night wear,” said Tazvivinga.
She said sound tracks on the one hour and 10 minutes-long piece were done by Terry Banks, Khayelitsha Sibanda and Dijana Peng, a Harare-based musical group.
“The film premiere will start at 6pm and it should be a grand day. It has been a lot of hard work coming up with the film,” said Tazvivinga.
Siyaya Dance Company actress Benhilda Ngwenya, Percy Shoko and Tim are the main actors.
The film, which has a cast of 22, features some talented artistes such as Sthandazile Dube and Mthokozisi Dube, who took part in The Gentleman, and Fortune “Foromani” Ruzungunde of the Sakhamuzi fame.
Inhlanhla (Fortune) is a story of two childhood friends Khanyile Mthethwa and Mthokozisi Moyo. Their friendship passes through high school life where Khanyile was two years junior to Mthokozisi.
Their friendship stands the test of high school romance and distance, and then later it develops into a romance after Mthokozisi returns after eight years abroad.
Khanyile is on the verge of losing him when she is caught between reconciling with the father of her son and her first love who had more than once broken her heart.
Now the question is, will their love stand this test or were they meant to be just friends?
During the production process of Inhlanhla organisations such as Gitiz Organisation, Amakhosi Productions, Fingers Modelling Agency and Salon contributed significantly to the success of the project.
Costumes for the fashion show were designed by White Cotton. Bags and crafts were designed by Grace of Hope and traditional shoes were made by Mthimkhulu Leather Products.
