Court Reporter
TWO Zimbabweans based in South Africa have appeared in court for allegedly stealing an assortment of jewellery from their employer.
The two njivas, Lutho Sibanda (54) and Lindiwe Moyo (50) from Mbamba area in Tsholotsho, were arrested last week after having fled from the neighbouring country where they were reportedly wanted for the offence.

The South African Police Services issued a warrant of arrest against Sibanda and Moyo seeking to have them extradited to the neighbouring country to stand trial.

Sibanda and Moyo were not asked to plead to theft when they appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Ms Gladmore Mushove yesterday.
They were remanded in custody to 11 November as the State led by Mr Kudakwashe Jaravaza opposed bail.

Mr Jaravaza said the State wants to make an application for the extradition of the two accused to stand trial in South Africa. The court was told that Sibanda and Moyo were employed at House Number 16 Edmund Rubenstein Drive, Sandton outside Johannesburg and allegedly stole an assortment of jewellery valued at thousands of dollars from their employer identified as Ekatarini Kyriakou.
