Innscor donates TV sets

through a “Dead or Alive” campaign, a promotion which offered customers an opportunity to give up their old TVs for a nominal fee in exchange for new LCD or LED models.

By bringing in old television sets, customers were credited with US$100 towards the purchase a new LED or LCD set.

“It is the hope of TV Sales & Home that these sets will bring some pleasure and entertainment to some of the less fortunate in our society,” said TV Sales & Home in a statement.

“Jairos Jiri, with its invaluable work with the disabled for over six decades, is a worthy recipient and with centres around Zimbabwe, fits in with TV Sales & Home’s objective of making these donations as widespread as possible. Harare-based Westgate Haven and Harare Hospital are equally deserving and it is hoped the televisions will enhance the lives of those they support,” added TV Sales.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Jairos Jiri national executive director Mr Wilson Ruvere said: “Indeed, we greatly value the cordial and fruitful partnership which has existed between the Jairos Jiri Association and the Innscor Group over the years.

Westgate Haven chairman Mr Ivan Savala said it was “heartwarming” to have companies like Innscor Group showing concern for the less privileged people.

Innscor group spokesperson Mr Musekiwa Kumbula said despite some budget constraints, the group, its subsidiaries and associates would continue supporting the less privileged. He said the donation was part of the group’s broad corporate investment.
