Fans of Insimbi ZeZhwane are calling for the band to consider stadium venues for future album launches, following a remarkable turnout at their highly anticipated 10th album launch in South Africa on Saturday, which drew an oversubscribed crowd.
Meluleki “Brema” Moyo, the leader and bassist of Insimbi ZeZhwane, successfully spearheaded the event, marking their first full-length release since the tragic passing of lead vocalist Elvis “Ma Eli” Mathe and drummer Thembinkosi “Maviri” Mpofu last year.
The devoted fans, affectionately known as the “purple nation”, came out in large numbers to show their support.
The seven-track album was launched at the Newtown Music Factory in South Africa, with a follow-up event scheduled for Bulawayo this weekend.
The new album features tracks including “Imbeleko,” “Ingqinamba,” “Umfukula,” “Morning Glory,” “Imbobo Zamajuba,” “Umathambula,” and “Mileage.”
The impressive attendance prompted some fans to suggest that the band consider larger venues in the future. One enthusiastic supporter remarked, “We had a great time at the launch. Next time, please take the launch to a stadium, and we will fill it!”
Brema took to Facebook to express his gratitude for the unwavering support of their fans, stating, “. . . ngeke singalibongi ngelikwenze izolo namanje angikholwa ukuthi kathi malithi liyofela ensimbini zenu litsho into enje….izolo zingamula zase South Africa liliyenzile iqiniso, inkosi isigcinele lina uthando lwenu alungabazeki.”
He emphasised that the album launch represents a new beginning for the group.
