Prosper Dembedza Court Correspondent
Three men yesterday appeared in court for allegedly faking the death of their relative to claim $5 000 from EcoSure funeral service.

Webster Wanga (35) of ZRP Masasa from Chikomba District is jointly charged with Charles Mujuru (25) and Crispen Mujuru (25) all of Plot 2 Annex Farm, Chivhu.

The three were not asked to plead to fraud charges when they appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Elijah Makomo. They were granted $100 bail with the State’s consent.

As part of their bail conditions, they were ordered to surrender their passports, reside at their addresses and to report once every Friday at CID Homicide Harare Central Police Station. They will be back in court on January 14 for trial.

Allegations are that on September 9 this year the trio hatched a plan to defraud Ecosure Services by obtaining a death certificate in the name of Webster Mtizwa from Chikomba District Registry Sub office in Masasa.
