INTER CREST CAPITAL ORDERED TO PAY US$81K TO CLIENT

MICRO-FINANCE firm, Inter Crest Capital, has been ordered to pay US$81k to one of its clients after failing to contest a High Court battle.

The firm was dragged to court by Auxilia Goromonzi, who claimed she was made to invest into a suspected pyramid scheme, sometime in 2022.

Goromonzi dragged the company’s directors, Precious Kwashirai and Roselinda Chopera, to the High Court where she demanded her money back.

She claimed she was made to invest US$27 000 first before she was lured into injecting other amounts amounting to US$67 200 by January last year.

The agreement was that Goromonzi would be given 10 percent per month, calculated from her principal amount.

The agreement also allowed Goromonzi to get her full amount upon request but the company failed to honour its part upon request.

Neither the company or its directors defended the action prompting High Court judge Justice Joseph Mafusire to hand out a default judgment.

“Inter Crest Capital and its directors shall pay Goromonzi the sum of US$81 139, together with interest, thereon at the rate of 10 percent per month from the date of this order to the date of payment in full and costs of suit,” reads the order.
