ZANU PF inter-district meetings being conducted across the country seek to communicate with party structures and assess progress made so far on the cell and village registration exercise.
So far, during the inter-district meetings, the commissariat has been tasked by party structures to inform President Mnangagwa, who is the First Secretary of the party, to reconsider his decision not to seek re-election when his term of office expires in 2028.
Across the country, Zanu PF structures are happy with the transformative works of President Mnangagwa. Masvingo Province was the first to implore the President to stay on, followed by the Zanu PF Midlands Youth League. Party structures in Mashonaland East, Bulawayo and Matabeleland North provinces, among others, have also requested that President Mnangagwa stays on.
The War Veterans League has also joined in the calls for President Mnangagwa to stay on.
On Wednesday, Zanu PF Secretary for War Veterans, Ex-Political Prisoners, Detainees and Restrictees, Cde Douglas Mahiya, said they will try to engage the President to convince him to continue in office and see through his Vision 2030 of an empowered upper-middle income society.
National Political Commissar, Cde Munyaradzi Machacha, said the inter-district meetings were ongoing.
“Every weekend I will be visiting provinces to fulfil that agenda,” he said.
