Interact club donates to Mpilo Hospital

The donations were presented in the presence of the patients’ parents and relatives who expressed gratitude for the kind gesture shown by the pupils.
One of the patients’ mother who identified herself as Mrs Dlodlo said she was very grateful for what the pupils had done.
“I am personally grateful to these club members for giving us some of the basics. I am from Matopo, my baby has been admitted here for the past week and a portion of what has been donated here will help us as I do not know when my baby will be well and discharged.”

The administrator of the paediatric department, Mr Phenias Sithole, applauded Northlea High School for supporting the hospital saying that it had been long since schools came up with such an initiative and encouraged the club members not to lose their generous spirit.
In a related issue, Mpilo Opportunistic Infections Clinic also received three computers and books for its Resources Centre for Adolescence Trust from the American Embassy.

The American Embassy public affairs officer Mrs Jillian Bonnardeaux said they were working with the hospital to ensure that children get the resources they need.
“The American Embassy is working with Mpilo Counselling Support Trust to ensure that HIV infected children  get the resources they need to get educated  about HIV/ Aids and other issues of concern.

“The embassy is also going to provide a learning friendly environment where children would feel comfortable coming any time they want, so plans are in place to make some renovations to the already existing library,” said Mrs Bonnardeaux.
