A MAN who was playing pool was reportedly left clutching his intestines after he was stabbed in the stomach by two men that he accused of giving tips to his opponent.
Desire Dube and Blessing Munzara appeared for trial before Western Commonage regional magistrate Sibongile Marondedze-Msipa on Monday, facing an attempted murder charge.
Represented by their lawyer Anna Kunda, they pleaded not guilty.

In his defence Munzara said on the day in question, a misunderstanding arose between him and Philip Mutukwa while they were at a bar in Old Pumula suburb.
The situation got out of hand resulting in the pair exchanging blows, said his lawyer.
His lawyer further said at the height of the fight Mutukwa ran berserk and picked stones and stoned him and damaged property in the bar. Munzara retaliated by throwing a stone at him.
The lawyer in defence of Dube said Mutukwa could have gotten injured because he fell on broken pieces of bottle.
Dube said while Munzara and Mutukwa fought he was in the bar and never teamed up with Munzara to assault and stab Mutukwa. He said he only broke up the fight pitting Dube and Mutukwa.
They were remanded out of custody to 28 February for continuation of trial.
Sometime last year in December but at a date not known by the prosecutor, Mutukwa was playing snooker at the bar when Munzara allegedly gave tips to Mutukwa’s opponent on how to outplay him in the game.
In a fit of anger Mutukwa reportedly picked a stone and hit Munzara. Amid that Munzara allegedly picked a pool stick and struck Mutukwa.
The court heard that Dube reached for an Okapi knife from his pocket and plunged it into Mutukwa’s stomach leaving his intestines protruding.
It is said he clutched them with his hands as he staggered to the police station. The horrific incident was reported to the police leading to the arrest of Dube and Munzara.
