THE organisers of Intwasa Arts Festival are bringing another jam packed entertainment fete to Bulawayo called, “Arts Extra” which will run from December 27 to 1 January 2019.
Arts Extra is a follow up event to the just ended Intwasa Arts Festival KoBulawayo and takes place during the festive season. It has been running for the past three years.
Arts Extra is set to spice up the festive season with events that include theatre, comedy, poetry, dance, music, and art exhibitions.
One of the organisers of the event, Nkululeko Nkala, said:
“Arts Extra is a mini festival which is a follow up to the Intwasa Arts festival and it is aimed at being an alternative to the festive season events which happen around the city. So all the art lovers should expect an amazing line-up of arts events this festive season from poetry to theatre and many more art-related activities.”
Nkala said the line-up of acts and other modalities will be released on November 1.
Some of last year’s highlights of the Arts Extra were the Women, Wine &Words which featured talented singer and guitarist Tariro Negitare, Thandy Dhlana-Jele, and poets Xtreme, Lady Profound and Harare-based poet Black Pearl.
Umkhathi’s theatrical play Ihloka written by Thabani Hillary Moyo was also one of the biggest highlights of last year’s Intwasa Arts Extra.
